Weight Loss
That warm sunny beach has never sounded better, right? New Year’s resolutions are fresh, and now is the time to make this your best, healthiest year ever. It’s the perfect time to shed those holiday pounds before spring.
You may already be back at the gym, and may have already started the yeast-free eating program, but how can you make the most of your efforts and maximize your weight loss and fat burning?
We thought you’d never ask!
Healthy weight loss happens at a rate of about 2-3 pounds per week, which means this may take a few weeks. So, the first action we recommend is to set your weight loss goal and WRITE IT DOWN. Writing down your goals helps your subconscious mind work on it even when you aren’t consciously thinking about it. Nice, huh? Also, write it with a future completion date. Here’s an example:
It’s March 31st and I have lost 20 pounds and I feel awesome.
Putting your goal into the future helps you visualize success, which is so important with weight loss or changing your eating plan for the better.
Ok, so you wrote down your weight loss goal in the future, and you are ready for action. Now what? It feels like the first few steps are the hardest, but don’t worry! You have already made healthy changes. You started on the yeast-free eating program (if not, you should start ASAP!), so you stopped eating all the bad stuff. Honestly, this is the hardest part, so let’s take a moment right now to just say...great job.
If you haven’t started eating yeast-free yet, now is the perfect time to do so. We help make it easier for you with our Yeast-Free With Me program. It is a 30 day support system that is designed to help you on the yeast-free eating plan. Also, you have probably incorporated a healthy level of activity or fitness back into your routine for the New Year. Maybe you are walking daily or maybe you are working with a trainer to obtain your highest level of fitness ever. Again, great job. The thing about weight loss is that it’s so simple and so hard at the same time. Weight loss won’t happen unless your body is burning more calories than it’s taking in.
So, the two main keys to lose weight on the yeast-free eating program are to be conscious about your calorie intake even while being restricted on what you can eat, and also to stay active. You can count calories with something like the MyFitnessPal, MyPlate or Lose It! apps.
For staying active, you can just walk about 30 minutes to an hour a day and for most people this is enough to see progress. If it’s not enough for you, then add in moderate weights 2-3 times per week or start jogging. Running is good for some people but it’s not ideal for everyone. You just need to keep moving and stay active. Go on a bike ride, play tennis, play with the grandkids, or go for a swim. If you do these two things then your chances of weight loss on the yeast-free eating program will increase greatly.
Here are a few more tips and tricks for weight loss while doing the Yeast-Free Eating Program:
• Don’t cheat. This one kind of goes without saying, but stick with the eating plan. Any cheating will take you back several steps and you will lose your momentum. Make sure all of your junk/sugary foods are out of the house and make sure your yeast-free approved snacks are ready and easy to get to at all times. Chop those veggies and keep a protein bar or nuts in your purse or car.
• Take Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA) because it is shown in several studies to help burn fat. And get this - it’s particularly helpful in the midsection. Um…yes, thank you. Anyway, CLA is one of our top supplements for weight loss because it helps people see progress in their body shape and on the scale.
• Plan on doing the 28-Day Slim Down. It’s an excellent follow up to the Yeast-Free Eating Program and you will LOVE the results. Check back in February to sign up for the 28-Day Slim Down program.
Losing weight while eating yeast-free sometimes happens easily and sometimes takes intention, but it’s always possible. Set your goal, track your calories, stay active, and consider ordering CLA.
