Dear Friend,
Does this sound familiar?
Only 30 minutes until the big
meeting. You stayed up studying the numbers last night, and you are ready for
this. You are pretty sure you’ll nail it. Except you are not feeling your best.
You have itchy, red eyes and can’t stop sneezing. Your head is killing you. You
have seasonal allergies and yes, ‘tis the season. You take an over-the-counter
antihistamine, and you hope for the best. Maybe another cup of coffee and a
quick walk will help, too. This meeting is too important to miss.
The meeting started, and it’s almost
your turn to give your presentation. You feel more awake, so the coffee must
have worked, but you stuff a few tissues in your pocket just in case. You stand
for your turn, and begin your speech with confidence.
Oh no, it’s starting again. Sneeze.
Wipe. Sneeze. You ask to be excused for the interruption.
Then it happens again, and your eyes
feel irritated, too. Someone asks if you are ok, because you look like you’ve
been crying. “Yes, I’m fine” you say. “It’s just allergies.”
As you go through the numbers with
continued and unwelcomed interruptions from your eyes, throat and nose, you
think to yourself “why did the medicine I took not work?” Maybe it reduced the
number of times you sneezed slightly, but you still don’t feel good at all. In
fact, it kind of made you feel spacey. What a farce. You wonder if anything
really works for allergies, or if maybe you’ll just always have to deal with
this.
I know this for sure, my friend. You
don’t have to deal with it.
Are you sniffling, sneezing and
suffering from seasonal airborne allergies? You aren’t alone. Ragweed and other
common allergens affect up to 30% of the US population. The ragweed season will
last until the first hard freeze, and will cause itchy, watery eyes, scratchy
throat, runny nose, coughing, sinus pressure and poor sleep quality. Allergies
are no fun, and not only are they an inconvenience, but they can cause
complications like sinus infections or ear infections from drainage and
inflammation.
Over-the-counter allergy medicines
are dangerous. The side effects include nausea, headache, muscle aches,
diarrhea, cramps, and upset stomach. If taken long-term, these medicines can
cause liver damage and increased inflammation that can actually INCREASE
allergic reactions in the future.
The definition of medicine is a
compound or preparation used for the treatment or prevention of a disease.
I don’t know about you, but it seems
to me like these over-the-counter medicines aren’t medicines at all. They
are poisonous drugs. They may help symptoms in the short-term, but they don’t
help you toward health or well-being. They make you sicker.
The great news is that there
are natural, safe, and effective approaches to treating
allergies that will help you achieve a higher level of health and wellness. A
safe, natural approach to wellness will never leave you with negative side
effects like the over-the-counter allergy medicines will. Natural approaches,
like immune-boosting vitamins, will leave you feeling better than ever, full of
energy and with an enhanced sense of well-being.
It helps to understand what causes
allergies. Allergies are an abnormal response by the immune system to normally
occurring substances in the environment. When the immune system isn’t working
right, it will attack non-threatening substances because it interprets them as
dangerous. Avoiding the allergen or allergens will help, but with an
allergy like ragweed, it may be impossible to avoid it. Treatment and
regulation of the immune system becomes the best and most effective natural
treatment for allergies.
6 Vitamins to Help You Beat Fall Allergies
1. Vitamin C
Several well-known
vitamins and supplements help support the immune system, but perhaps none do as
much as the famous as Vitamin C.
Phagocytes and t-cells are both cells of the immune
system that store vitamin C and use it to perform their immunity tasks. Higher
levels of vitamin C in the system improve their immune response and lower
levels of vitamin C reduce their response and contribute to decreased
resistance. Vitamin C is also a natural anti-inflammatory (which helps with aches and
pains) and a natural antihistamine. So you could say that taking Vitamin C, especially in doses over 2,000 mg, could be helpful for
several allergy symptoms like sneezing, drainage and itchy, red eyes. The only
side effects would be positive ones, like adrenal support, better daytime
energy, and improved skin.
2. Colostrum Complete
Colostrum is another well-known immune-boosting
supplement. It works by providing beneficial antibodies that give your immune
system the blueprints for attacking lots of different viruses and bacteria.
Colostrum can also help heal a leaky gut, which is a common cause of food
allergies such as gluten intolerance.
3. Vitamin D
Vitamin D is often associated with bone health, but it’s been more
recently identified as a critical element of the immune system, just like
vitamin C. Vitamin D can modulate both adaptive and innate immune responses. The
adaptive immune response eliminates specific pathogens and prevents their
growth. The innate immune response is more general. Low levels of vitamin D are associated
with autoimmune disorders, as well as overall lower immune response.
4. Curcumin Ultimate
Curcumin
Ultimate is a very effective antioxidant that helps
detoxify the liver. A clean liver will free up more nutrients to help with
other processes like immune system support and regulation. Curcumin also helps lower
inflammation which can help relieve pain. It’s actually shown itself to be just
as effective at pain relief as over the counter NSAIDs, without the dangers of
eroding the stomach lining.
5. Probiotic Blend
It’s been said that
about 80% of the immune system is actually in the gut. It’s the good bacteria
that helps keep the gut balanced and healthy. The good bacteria also can manufacture
vitamins and helps send appropriate signals to the brain via the gut-brain
connection. Probiotic
Blend is a superior, high quality blend of
good bacteria that helps improve immune function and restore gut health. Probiotic
Blend is gluten and dairy free, and tends to
help with both seasonal and food allergies.
6. My HotzePak Allergy
Relief Pak
If you’d like to take
a holistic natural approach (holistic mean whole) by taking all of these
supplements together, it becomes a full spectrum allergy defense plan, and it
has a name. We call it the My
HotzePak Allergy Relief Pak. It contains Vitamin C, Colostrum, Vitamin
D, Curcumin and Probiotic
Blend, all in one easy-to-take pack. Having these vitamins preorganized and
packeted makes it more likely that you will take the vitamins daily, so it
drastically improves your chances of feeling better soon. This allergy season,
don’t take chances. Take the Allergy
Relief Pak.
Perhaps the most important natural
treatment for allergies, or to strengthen the immune system, is to stop eating
sugar. Sugar ties up nutrients, like magnesium and B vitamins, that your body
needs for many other important processes. Once you cut out sugar for 3-4 days,
your allergy symptoms will almost surely improve.
Natural approaches to wellness,
whenever possible, are always the best approach to take. Now is a good time to
toss out the over-the-counter antihistamines and pledge to strengthen your
immune system naturally this year. When that big meeting comes around, and you
feel full of energy and life, you will be so glad you did.
